The following is the nomination we received for this years recipient 🙂
Hi there,
I would like to nominate Steve McRae aka Basil for this award.
I feel this is long overdue as Basil has been volunteering for WMH off and on since 1998.
He started his coaching with an atom team back then. A group of boys that one year later won an OMHA championship under his guidance.
Basil has had multiple OMHA championship teams here in Woodville over the last 20 years.
Just recently he spent 2 days volunteering his time umpiring at WMH baseball tournament this past fall.
He has been a member of the Lions club here in Woodville for the last 10 years as well.
I know this award would have special meaning to Basil as he was a childhood friends of Eldons as well as a teammate. I have wanted to nominate him for some time and feel the time is right to acknowledge all of his time and effort put into WMH.
We are very pleased to present the Eldon Thompson Memorial Award to BASIL MCRAE.

Congratulations to all this years award winners. We are so proud of all your hard work, dedication and contributions to the game of hockey.
