WMHA Season Update
Submitted By Jamie MacKay on Thursday, September 3, 2020
The following will provide an update on the current status of Woodvillle's hockey season, please read carefully

Ultimately we in Woodville have come to a cross road this year and are not going to be able to run a program for the 2020/2021 season. Many different factors are contributing to this decision. We want to be able to work with our neighbouring associations to direct and support our members to provide them with a positive hockey season.

It is unfortunate that Woodville will not be able to provide programming this season.  We know that the changes and uncertainty have created issues that we don’t normally encounter.  We have faith that the associations within Vic Durham/Three County will be able to offer all of the registered members a place to play hockey this season and that Woodville will be back to offing programming in the 2021/22 season.

To ensure that everyone understands the options when an association cannot offer programing and to avoid players registering with the wrong association I’ve listed the options available:

1.      Players registered in Woodville for the 2020/21 season with a home centre that is not Woodville are required to return to their home centre

2.      Players with a home centre of Woodville but played in another association during the 2019/2020 season can play for that association in the 2020/2021 season.

3.      Players with a Primary centre of Woodville are permitted to register with any association* within your Public Health Unit.  They do not have to register with the next closest centre,

(* Vic Durham/Three County Associations within the PHU Sturgeon, Mariposa, Lindsay, Kawartha, Manvers)

Any deposits or monies that were paid to Woodville Minor Hockey Association before June 1,2020 was held in trust and refund cheque’s will be available on Sept 8th.

Any questions or concern feel free to contact our OMHA rep, Matt Jackson , j[email protected] Keep posted to our Facebook or website as we will continue to provide current updates and info going forward for this current season and next.

Thank you
